Have You Purchased Tax Sale/Lien Property?

During my three years as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Mobile I foreclosed and quieted title to numerous properties and prepared all associated documents like purchase agreements and deeds necessary. I spent two years as an Attorney for the Mobile County Revenue Commissioners Office and advised on legislative changes to this complex system. During those years I regularly interacted with the leading experts in the field of land banking, the Center for Community Progress, to stay up to date on best practices and methods that were working nationally. Alternatively, if you find yourself on the other side of this issue and your family property is at stake (called heir property), interested heirs must be afforded adequate due process notice prior to losing title to the property amongst many other things.

Insurance Companies Not Acting Like a Good Neighbor?

For most of us a daily commute is a way of life. When that simple task is interrupted with the destructiveness of a car accident you expect the insurance company to step up to the plate. All of us become a little more anxious when hurricane season approaches. Names like Camille, Frederic, Katrina, and Sally strike fear in our minds as we recall the ferocity of those storms and the havoc they caused to our community, neighbors, and our homes. I proudly represent homeowners and innocent drivers who feel as if they are getting the short end of the stick after a life altering event, including fire and flood homeowner claims.
